Filming Location from Bachelor Party

Released in 1984, Bachelor Party stars Tom Hanks as Rick Gassko, a school-bus driver whose friends throw him a wildly out-of-control party before his wedding to Debbie. It is loud, broad, messy, and extremely 1980s — the kind of comedy where the premise is simple and every scene tries to top the last.

Rick’s job as a school-bus driver gives the movie its blue-collar, everyday setup before the party chaos takes over. The bus scenes are important because they establish Rick as a regular guy with a goofy job, a group of questionable friends, and a wedding he may or may not be ready for.

On a location trip, these scenes are more about production texture than one public landmark. The school bus, streets, and everyday L.A. surroundings ground the movie before it heads into full farce.

The one location I have been able to tie down is John Marshall High School, also used in Pretty in Pink, and A Nightmare on Elm St.
